Brian J. Kane was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. In 1979, he graduated magna cum laude from Loras College, with majors in Accounting and Political Science. In 1982, he received his juris doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law.

Mr. Kane is the managing shareholder of Kane, Norby & Reddick, P.C. and its founder. He practices primarily in the areas of corporate/commercial law, estate planning, probate, and taxation and has co-authored the Iowa State Bar Association Fiduciary and Estate Tax Planning Manual. He is a frequent speaker on fiduciary taxation and estate planning and he is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

In 2002, Mr. Kane was a recipient of the Excellence in Education Award from the Professional Education Systems Institute (PESI), and in 2003, he was awarded the Iowa State Bar Association’s Community Service Award. He is, or has been, a member of many boards of directors of local charities.

Mr. Kane is a member of the Dubuque County, Iowa State (Taxation section), and American Bar Associations. He was elected President of the Dubuque County Bar Association for 2005-2006.

In 1987, Mr. Kane also became a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants.
