Brad J. Heying was born in Dubuque, Iowa and raised in Epworth, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1989, with highest honors, majoring in accounting and obtaining his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in 1989. Mr. Heying thereafter attended the University of Iowa and received his Juris Doctorate in 1992, with distinction.

Mr. Heying works in the areas of corporate/commercial law, estate planning, probate and real estate.

In addition to his position with the firm, Mr. Heying is a frequent speaker on estate planning and has taught Corporate Income Tax at Clarke College as an adjunct professor since spring semester, 2004. Mr. Heying is also a member of the Dubuque County (Chair, Continuing Education Committee) and Iowa State Bar Associations.

Mr. Heying has also served as a member of the following boards of directors: Hills & Dales Child Development Center (1998-2004); Jamie Barwick Hills & Dales Foundation (2004-present); and American Red Cross Dubuque Chapter (1993-1994; 2000—present).
